There's no need to re-enter the customer lists you keep in another program or in Excel one by one. This article explains how to import records in bulk as potentials, using the Excel template or from Google Contacts.
Before you start
- Your role needs the permission to import potentials.
- The data source and operation type the imported records will use must be defined under Definitions.
- To import from Google Contacts, your company's Google account must be connected: Connect Google Calendar.
Importing from Excel
- Open the Potential → Potential list from the left menu and click Import.
- In the Potential Import window, download the template to your computer with the Download button on the Download Excel Template row.
- Enter your records in the template's columns. Don't change the column headings.
- On the Check File Compatibility row, select your file (.xlsx or .xls) and click the Check File Compatibility button.
- When the button changes to "Validation Completed Successfully", click Save. The records are added and you return to the potential list.
If validation fails, fix the file based on the error message on screen and upload it again. No records are added until the file passes validation.
Importing from Google Contacts
- In the same Potential Import window, click Contacts Import. This button only appears while a Google account is connected.
- Docvivo loads your contacts from Google and shows how many came in.
- In the list that opens, check the people you want to import. To take them all, use Select All.
- Choose the Data Source and Operation Type fields at the top and click Apply. Your choices are applied to every row; you can still edit rows one by one.
- If needed, correct the Name, Phone Number, Second Phone Number and Birth Date on the rows.
- Click Import and confirm.
Every row needs at least a name or a phone number; the data source and operation type are required. If any rows are incomplete, Docvivo shows which field is missing on which row.
