Connect Google Calendar

When you connect your Google account, you can export appointments from Docvivo to Google Calendar and import the people in your Google Contacts. This article explains how to set up the connection and export appointments to your calendar.

Before you start

• Only company administrators can set up and manage the Google connection. Other users see the page in read-only mode.
• The connection belongs to the company, not to a user: the whole company uses a single Google account.

Connecting your Google account

1. Open Integrations from the left menu and click the Google card.
2. Click Sign in with Google.
3. In Google's window, choose the account the company will use and approve access to the calendar and contacts.
4. When you're back in Docvivo, the Google account card shows the connected account's name and email address.

Exporting appointments to Google Calendar

1. Open Appointment → Appointment List from the left menu. Use the filters to list the appointments you want to export.
2. Click Sync in the list's toolbar.
3. In the window that opens, click Sync appointments with Google and confirm.
4. Docvivo shows how many events were created and updated in Google Calendar.

The export covers the appointments currently shown in the list. Appointments are written to a separate calendar called Docvivo CRM in your Google account; if that calendar doesn't exist, it's created on the first export. Each event's title holds the customer's name and the operation type, and its description holds the notes, location and participants.

When you export the same appointment again, no new event is created; the existing event is updated. Appointment participants get an invitation from Google at their email addresses.

Downloading a calendar file

The Download .ics for Google button in the same window downloads the appointments in the list as a calendar file. You can open the file in Google Calendar through Settings → Import & export → Import, or in any other calendar app that supports .ics files.

Google Contacts

With the same connection, you can import the people in your Google Contacts as potentials. Details: Import from Excel and Google Contacts.

How do I remove the connection?

On the Integrations → Google page, click Sign out / remove firm Google link and confirm.

I can't see the Sync button

The button only appears while a Google account is connected and your role has permission to export appointments.
